  2. Indian Cave State Park in Shubert, Nebraska:

Another quick two-hour drive from Kansas City, and you’ll find yourself at Indian Cave State Park in Nebraska. Lined with petroglyphs on cave walls and many well-kept walking areas, there’s much more here than just caves to explore. The views from the platforms along the way are extraordinary, and you can choose to camp out or stay in a nearby town if you’d rather stay in a hotel instead.

Lake Ozark is a classic Missouri vacation destination. Still, the best views are available to those who can find a spot away from the crowds! Just about two hours and forty minutes from Kansas City, you can take some time to hike around or relax by the lake. Roughly three and a half hours from Kansas City, you’ll find the Ozark Mountains, a must-see destination if you haven’t already been. You won’t need to cross into Arkansas either. Just south of Branson, you can drive around and see some of the best scenery Missouri has to offer from the comfort of your car.

While this is the furthest of the destinations at just over four hours away from Kansas City, you can rest assured that it’s one of the most gorgeous! With gorgeous hills and mesas as far as the eye can see, you’d never believe that these hills were just over the border to Kansas, and home to some of the best local food.
